After a client buys a Purchase Option, such as a membership or session pass, you can edit their Purchase Option individually. Customizations that you make to a client’s Purchase Option will apply only to that specific Purchase Option. Additionally, the Purchase Option will be marked as Edited on the client’s Passes & Memberships page. Other Purchase Options of the same type won’t be affected.
We recommend using this functionality sparingly for two reasons:
- Clients with customized Purchase Options may speak to others about their experience, leading other clients to ask for customizations to get a better deal.
- After a Purchase Option has been edited for an individual client, it will no longer be affected by global setting changes made to the original Purchase Option, unless you choose to apply the changes. For this reason, we recommend that you keep records of any edits you make for individual clients. To learn more about the rules governing Purchase Option modifications, see Modifying a Purchase Option.
If customizations are made in error or need to be removed, you can reset the client’s Purchase Option to remove the changes. You can view all your clients who have edited Purchase Options using the client list.
If you want to disable auto-renew for a client’s individual Purchase Option, see Disabling auto-renew for an individual Purchase Option.
- Membership settings can’t be modified after the membership has expired.
- To ensure that your accounting is always correct, the expiration rules for session passes can’t be modified after a client has purchased the pass. If you want to change the expiration rules, you must create a new session pass.
- WellnessLiving restricts the ability to manually adjust a purchased membership’s remaining visits because this can cause issues to future reconciliations and affect your payroll or revenue reporting. If you need to provide extra visits for your clients, we recommend selling them free session passes. If the number of visits needs to be reduced, you can cancel the membership and resell it.
- If an individual membership is customized after it’s been purchased, any discount codes that were applied to the membership will no longer be valid. For example, a client purchases a membership that has a 15% discount applied to its monthly payments. If a staff member later changes a setting in that client’s membership, such as the attendance restrictions, the 15% discount will be removed from any upcoming payments. For more information on membership discounts, see Applying a discount to a membership.
- After a package has been sold, items associated with the package can’t be removed from a client’s profile by editing the package. Instead, the items must be canceled or deactivated individually. For more information, see Canceling a client’s membership, Canceling an event booking, and Deactivating and reactivating a client’s session pass.
- When you change the Auto-Renew option for a Purchase Option under the Auto-Renew column on a client’s Passes & Memberships page, the Purchase Option won’t be marked as Edited.
