FAQ: Why was my email blacklisted?

If the IP address you are sending emails from gets blacklisted, you will not be able to send emails to any of your clients who use major email providers (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo).

Being blacklisted is one of the reasons why an email sent to a client would have a status of Failed in a client’s Contact History and your marketing reports.

You may have been blacklisted for any of the following reasons:

  • An email was sent from your IP address to a spam trap (an email address that is used to identify spam and spammers).
  • Your IP address was submitted to a blacklist by an individual or an email administrator that believed your email sending behavior resembled spam.
  • The IP range (a collection of IP addresses) your IP address is a part of was submitted to a blacklist by an individual or an email administrator, and the blacklist’s administrator believed your email sending behavior resembled spam.
