Managing video categories

A video category can be used to organize your videos. When you create or modify a video category you can determine which client types and client groups can access the videos placed in that category. Your clients cannot view one of your videos unless you place that video in at least one video category.

Clients using the Client Web App can also search for videos by video category. If a video category has no videos, it will not be displayed in the Client Web App.

If you want to delete a video category, you must first assign every video in that category to a new category. If a video does not belong to a video category, that video cannot be viewed by clients. NoteIf you set both Enable for specific Client Types and Enable for specific Client Groups to OFF for a video category, all the videos within that category will be available to anyone who opens it.

NoteIf you share the direct buy URL for a video category that is available to Prospect clients with someone who is not a client or a client who is not logged into the Client Web App, that person will be able to view all the videos within that category.

This can be useful when promoting your business to prospective clients. For example, if you create a video category called About Us and place videos introducing your business in that category, you can share the direct buy URL for that category with anyone so they can learn about your business.

In this article:

    To create or modify a video category:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click View All.
    3. In the list, click FitVID. You can filter the list by entering FitVID into the Search field.
    4. On the FitVID menu, click Video Categories.
    5. On the Video Categories page, create or modify a video category.
      • To create a new video category, click ADD CATEGORY.
      • To modify an existing video category, click the More button on the video category you want to modify and then click the Edit button . You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the video category.
    6. Under VIDEO CATEGORY NAME, enter the name of the video category.
    7. Set the Enable only for specific Client Types option to ON to select which client types can view the videos in this video category.
        • Click Select All to make the videos in this category available to all client types or select the individual client types to which you want to make the videos in this category available.
        • If you restrict one or more client types from viewing a video, clients with those types will not be able to view that video. However, the staff member responsible for uploading the video will be able to view the video even if they log in from a client profile with a restricted client type.
    8. Set the Enable only for specific Client Groups option to ON to select which client groups can view the videos in this category.
        • Click Select All to make the videos in this category available to all client groups or select the individual client groups to which you want to make the videos in this category available.
    9. Click SAVE.

    To share a video category:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click View All.
    3. In the list, click FitVID. You can filter the list by entering FitVID into the Search field.
    4. On the FitVID menu, click Video Categories.
    5. On the Video Categories page, click the More button for the video category you want to share, then click the Copy Video Category  button . You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the video category.
      • If a video category has no videos within it, the Copy Video Category  button will be disabled and you will not be able to share the video category with a client.
      • If the link for a video category is shared with a client, but then all videos from that category are removed, the client will be asked to select another video category in the Client Web App when they click that link.
    6. Paste the link in a message to a client or embed this link in your website to provide direct access to the videos in that video category 
      • When the someone clicks the link, the Watch Video tab in the Client Web App will open and it will be filtered to only display videos in that category. 
      • If you share the Direct Buy Shortcut for a video category with someone who is not a client, that person will be able to view all the videos within that category.

    To delete a Video Category:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click View All.
    3. In the list, click FitVID. You can filter the list by entering FitVID into the Search field.
    4. On the FitVID menu, click Video Categories.
    5. In the Video Categories list, click the More button for the video category you want to delete, and then click the Delete button . You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the video category.
    6. Review the message in the confirmation popup and click OK. The video category is deleted from the WellnessLiving system.
