Sending automated notifications to specific client types or groups

If you want to send automated notifications to only specific client types or groups, you can do so by modifying the email send rules of your automated notifications. Modifying the email send rules will affect not only automated emails, but automated SMS messages and push notifications that are enabled as well.

Note: Automated emails are sent at midnight on the day they are scheduled to be sent. Make sure the appropriate clients are in the correct types or groups the day before the email is sent.

To send an automated notification to a specific client type or group:

  1. Click the App Drawer button .
  2. In the App Drawer, click Setup.
  3. On the Setup menu, click Notifications.
  4. On the Notifications menu, click Client Notifications.
  5. In the list, click the automated notification you want to modify. You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the notification you want to modify.
  6. Click the Edit button Pencil in the email column of the notification you want to modify.
  7. Under Email Send Rules, select who will receive the automated notification:
    • Set the Send only to specific Client Types option to ON to send the automated notification to one or more client types.
      • Select which client types will receive the automated notification by setting the appropriate options to ON. If you want to send the automated notification to all client types, set the Select All option to ON.
    • Set the Send only to specific Client Groups option to ON to send the automated notification to one or more client groups.
      • Select which client groups will receive the automated notification by setting the appropriate options to ON. If you want to send the automated notification to all client groups, set the Select All option to ON.
    Note When multiple client types and/or client groups are selected, the system will only send automated notifications to clients who are in all of the types and/or groups that you select. For example, if you choose to send the notification to two different client groups and a client is only in one of the client groups, they will not receive the notification.
  8. Click SAVE.
