Setting up chip and PIN card readers with WellnessLiving

You can set up chip and PIN card readers to process debit and credit card payments for your business. You must order the chip and PIN card reader from your merchant processor and then create a custom payment method for clients to use at the store checkout.

NoteDebit and credit payments using chip and PIN card readers is not fully integrated. When payments are received or refunds are processed using a chip and PIN card reader, the amounts from the WellnessLiving System must be entered manually into your point-of-sale.

In this article:

    To set up chip and PIN card reads with WellnessLiving:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click Setup.
    3. On the Setup menu, click Store Configuration.
    4. On the Store Configuration menu, click Store Settings.
    5. Under Payment Methods, click ADD PAYMENT METHOD.
    6. Under PAYMENT METHOD NAME, enter Chip Reader as the name of the payment method.
    7. Under TREAT PAYMENT AS, select PIN Pad.
    8. Click ADD. Your changes are saved automatically.

    To manually input transactions from the chip and PIN reader:

    1. Complete steps 1-8 in Making a sale.
    2. Under Select a Payment Method, select the customer payment method named Chip Reader.
    3. Complete the transaction on the chip and PIN reader. A receipt will be printed at this time.
    4. Under TRANSACTION NUMBER, enter the transaction number that appears on the printed receipt.
    5. Under COMMENT, enter any comments or notes on the transaction.
    6. Click Complete. The sale is complete.
