Troubleshooting: Unable to apply a discount code in Client Web App


Clients are unable to apply a discount code using the Client Web App. When this action is attempted, the error message “This discount code can be used only in a point of sale” is displayed.


Clients can only apply discount codes themselves if the codes are enabled for online purchases. Review the steps below to resolve this issue:

  1. Click the App Drawer button .
  2. In the App Drawer, click Setup.
  3. On the Setup menu, click Store Configuration.
  4. On the Store Configuration menu, click Discount Codes.
  5. In the list, click the discount code you want to modify. You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the discount code.
  6. Under Redemption Rules, set the Clients can redeem this discount code online option to ON.
  7. Click SAVE CHANGES.
