CCB has been great for my daughter.   Sensi Rosie and Hanshi Jon are patient, kind, and fun and create a wonderful environment for learning and training. Now that my 7 year old has some skills she does forward rolls, backward rolls, and knee walks everywhere!!  Highly recommended if you have an active child who needs to channel some energy..

I have two kids in the CCB kids program, and I highly recommend it.

My boy/girl twins started classes 18 months ago when they were 5.  Finding an activity that would be a good fit for both of them was a challenge. My daughter was very athletic, but at that point, my son was less coordinated.  I wanted an activity where they would not be in competition with each other. CCB has been a wonderful fit for both of them. My son has become more comfortable in his body and developed better reflexes and control. My daughter has loved the opportunity to use her athleticism in a structured way and grow stronger. They have thrived in the program, learned new physical skills, and both have a sense of pride in their accomplishments.

As a parent, one of the aspects of the program I really appreciate is that each week there is a life lesson for the kids. It is nice for me to point to these lessons throughout the week. One lesson was initiative, where the kids were encouraged to take initiative in preparing their homework, packing their school bag, and being ready to go in the morning. Recently the lesson was “flow” - about how they can move around the obstacles in front of them rather than being stopped. CCB helps them develop life skills, not just physical skills.

The instructors are firm but kind (there are multiple instructors in each class). They have amazing control over a room of 15 + kids!  The kids like them and respect them. I feel the classes are the right mixture of fun and structure for their age group. I also appreciate that the focus is on each child learning, rather than on competition.

My kids can now do forward rolls, backwards rolls, strikes, kicks and techniques… And they love the Tai sabaki ball (dodge ball) at the end of class.  They look forward to attending “kids night out” and other activities at the dojo.  I love how they have a sense of being part of the CCB community. They look forward to seeing the friends they have made and looking ahead to what they will be able to learn and do as they grow.
