Jiu Jitsu is the most practical and realistic self defense for women. It will show you that size and strength do not matter as much as technique and leverage. The culture in this dojo is the most welcoming and friendly atmosphere even for the most nervous beginners. I have a toddler and twin babies and the first thing I asked when I called was if I could bring them. I didn’t even finish my sentence and Emiliano said bring them all. The babies used to cry for the entire class and my son would run all over the mat, but not once did I feel unwelcome or out of place. The instructors are certified and learning is so fun and easy and SAFE so I fell in love with Jiu Jitsu but I am staying with this place because of the culture. I wouldn’t have been able to do this if I had to get a babysitter or felt that my kids were annoying everyone. I am so thankful to the wonderful group of instructors that have made my experience so great. All women should know Jiu Jitsu! Honestly ladies, this place is worth it.

Emiliano and his magnificent group of trainers and staff create a warm and welcoming environment that makes learning the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu exciting, fun, and non-intimidating. Whats more is that the facility is a Gracie Certified Training Center! Translation.... there are training programs for individuals of all ages and experience levels. For my needs as a husband and father of two young children, and as an individual with no formal martial arts training, the decision was one of the best I could have made for my overall health, safety, and well-being.
I encourage anyone remotely interested in jiu jitsu, self defense, or overall heath to take the time to at least visit the facility and speak with Emiliano or his staff, you won't regret it!

Hello to all,
I have had 2 class at Central City JJ, and I couldn’t be happier.
As a former school owner in NY, and still a student of the martial arts, I can identify a great school, which means a great instructor and that actually is  what Central City is, and of course my classmates are great they made me feel at home.

I keep trying to decide what class has been my favorite but the more I attend I can’t pick. All I can say is learning the core of the art is the way to go.

The ability to review the videos on Gracie University before class give you a head start but wanting them again after helps explain questions you didn’t think to ask during class. Come try Central City Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defense.
