I took my first class of Tai Chi ever at this studio, and although I was nervous at first, I ended up really enjoying it. The other students who were there before the instructor, as I was, were friendly and welcoming. One of them offered to show me the warm-ups while we waited for Sifu Paul. When he arrived, he showed me a beginning stance and corrected my form, patiently making sure I understood and was comfortable with it before moving on to the other students.
I wasn't sure what to expect, so for those who also have no idea, this is what happened during the class: Everyone else had evidently been to Tai Chi before, and began at their own pace and worked on their own forms. Most people were in sweat pants and a t-shirt, although one other student wore shorts. The instructor and/or his assistant got around to everyone to make sure they were practicing correctly, giving help, or showing them something new. The instructor was very kind and spent extra time making sure I was doing alright. I worked through the four-step set all class, and after class Sifu Paul had me fill out a small form with my information and interests. He then explained the other classes he teaches and let me know when they were in case I wanted to attend others. He was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend considering this class, and intend to go back again.
