Natalie is a highly awarded classical violinist and fiddle player who has traveled around the world sharing her music with the masses. (read more here -http://www.noteworthym.com/natalie-gain) Natalie began her private teaching career in her early teens. She was mentored by her own violin instructor and learned the basics of teaching during this time. Through her own incredible instructor, Natalie learned how to make music and teaching her passion. As Natalie grew older she branched out in her teaching and began teaching through a third party studio while living in Alaska. After seeing some concerning issues with the quality of teaching, and with the mentality behind the studio, she decided to leave and start her own small studio at the age of 20. She had a handful of students while living in Alaska and this is where she formed her unique approach to teaching and running a music studio. Her three pillars of teaching are Technique, Intonation, and Musicality. She also heavily incorporates music theory into every lesson. After moving back down to the lower 48 Natalie chose to pursue her love of teaching full time. She formally started her company, Note Worthy Music, LLC, in 2014 and began accepting violin students into Note Worthy Music Studio. She largely credits her success to her unique approach to teaching and her main philosophy that “anyone can play (teach) notes, it takes someone special to play (teach) music.” She strives to truly instill a love of music in each individual she teaches and focuses on detailed and thorough instruction to produce students that not only love music, but are quality players. Her extensive experience teaching beginners (some as young as 4) and adults, makes her ability to shape curriculum around different learning styles and personalities, one of her strongest assets. She strives to create a real studio feel where everyone encourages each other. She does this through studio incentive programs, studio recitals, studio outings, and group emails. Natalie really encourages the studio to be a community and for students to interact and encourage each other. Due to the unique and patient approach Natalie has developed, the studio has also had the chance to work with many different types of special needs students. Students struggling with learning disabilities and sensory issues have all found a home at NWM Studio. Even those dealing with Cerebral Palsy and students with limited vision and arthritis have been able to learn to love music and be successful violinists through the studio. As Note Worthy Music Studio continues to grow and hire new teachers, Natalie is working hard to maintain her high standard of quality with each instructor so no student slips through the cracks and so that every student learns to love music for life. She has hired some extremely qualified teachers who have also participated in training directly with her to maintain the philosophy of her studio while incorporating thier own unique approach to teaching.
