My daughter has been doing guitar lessons with Ben for a couple months now. She has already learned so much and is proud of her progress. Ben has been a wonderful teacher and always communicates to me what she has learn and should be practicing.
Azalea is originally from Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, she has a Master’s degree of Music Performance in Opera Directing from The Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music at The University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from The University of Texas at Brownsville. She is a classically trained soprano, her favorite genres to perform and teach include Opera, Musical Theatre, Theatre for Young Audiences, Pop, Rock, and anything you can dance to!
She has directed and/or performed at multiple Young Artists Programs, including The Cohen New Works Festival at Austin, TX, Butler Opera International, The Butler Opera Center Young Artists Program, Opera NEO, Greensboro Light Opera and Song, and Up North Vocal Institute.
Azalea has experience teaching voice, piano, early childhood education, choir, and dance, among others. She is a versatile director and teacher who loves to inspire her students through music, art, and an interdisciplinary curriculum. Azalea believes everyone should have music in their lives no matter their background. Her mission is to share her knowledge and help connect students and families through their love for music.
