Rachel holds a degree in Music Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. During her time at PLNU, she was involved in multiple ensembles including Concert Choir, Vocal Jazz, Choral Union, and Concert Band.
She is a classically trained soprano and also plays trumpet under the direction of John Wilds of the San Diego Symphony. She has held positions as President of the University's Concert Choir, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and the CMEA collegiate club.
Her teaching experience includes co-conducting PLNU’s Swingin’ Sisters, teaching private trumpet lessons, tutoring music theory, and being the vocal coach for Mission Bay High School’s Swing Choir and Concert Choir. She enjoys connecting with students through music to create a safe environment for them to be creative and express themselves. Her goal is to inspire her students to be the best they can be through music... not just as a musician but in all aspects of life.
