I am in my third year at Core Integrity Pilates and am getting stronger and feeling healthier every day. Amanda instills the basics and then continually helps you to challenge yourself to get more each session. I was never a person who joined classes, but I am disappointed when I don’t get to class at least three times a week!
Emilie Young fell in love with Pilates in 2011 while completing
her undergraduate degree at Appalachian State University. She began
her dedicated, regular practice after enrolling in a Pilates mat
class for PE credit. While not always an “athletic” type, she was
initially apprehensive, but immediately fell in love with the work
and was determined to continue training beyond her one semester
course. Discovering Pilates was life-changing moment for Emilie,
because it was the first time that she learned to stand up
straight, thus correcting years of incorrect posture and terrible
back pain! Emilie found empowerment and freedom in the Pilates
method, and learned to cultivate her strength in body and mind.
Eager to share her experience for the work with others in her
community, Emilie completed a 700 HR Comprehensive Classical
Pilates at Appalachian State University, where she studied with
second generation instructors, Marianne Adams and Rebecca Quin. She
now has had the great joy of teaching in Greensboro community,
where she also works as a K-12 art teacher at a local school. A
teacher through and through, whether in the classroom or the
studio, Emilie’s drive is to challenge, mentor, and inspire!
