I had never tried pilates before, so was a bit nervous about going to this class. I signed up for the Intro Special Single Reformer Class with goal of strengthening my back muscles and stretching my hips. I also have been going to a chiropractor for some joint issues, so thought the pilates class could help me to be stronger and have less pain. Tannis was my instructor today, and she was excellent and very patient and personable with me since I'd never done pilates previously. Thank-you Tannis!!! I will definitely be back and spread the good word that you are here.
TEACHING IN JOSHUA TREE STUDIO. Growing up in the Southern
California desert Mandy has always lived an active and health
conscious lifestyle. Her love of fitness and optimum strength led
her to pursue a career in Pilates. Working from the inside out,
being strong, feeling connected, limber, and not being limited by
our physical body, is her passion.
A graduated of Palm Desert High School, Mandy started her journey as a Pilates student in 2002. She began practicing mat Pilates after injuring her knee while traveling abroad. She realized how much Pilates helped her with her rehabilitation. She trained under Jill Cassady, Pilates Technique Certification in Santa Monica, and in 2013 completed her extensive certification program, focusing on the traditional New York classic style of Pilates.
Mandy is always looking into new ways to incorporate the classical foundation into her own style, while empowering her clients to reach past their limitations, strengthening from the core while focusing on injury prevention.
The past year Mandy's managed her own Pilates studio at the Brentwood Country Club, but her love of the desert called her home. She's now a full-time high desert dweller.
