Carol and I are Donna's oldest and almost her longest continuous clients (~20 years!) Her skillful Pilates teaching and coaching has been a pivotal point in our physical fitness program for all this time. She has tailored the Pilates exercises to our needs and ages. She continually challenges us but never beyond what we can handle and always (well, almost always!) makes it fun and interesting. We continue to look forward to our weekly sessions with her. In addition to the Pilates training, Donna understands any minor pains and aches we might have and always has suggestions and techniques to help. We could not possibly be more satisfied with the relationship we have with her and look forward to it continuing well into our old age.
Owner & 2nd Generation Pilates Instructor
Donna was fortunate to have been trained under the
direct tutelage of Romana Kryzanowska, master teacher and protege
of Joseph Pilates, in 1992. She discovered Pilates as a
professional ballet dancer when an injury brought her to Performing
Arts Physical Therapy in NYC. They had partnered with Romana to
form The Pilates Guild and began to establish the very first
certification program for The Pilates Method. Donna received her
certification, and was asked by Romana to help facilitate the
training of the apprentices at their Los Angeles studio, which led
her on the path of teacher training. She later worked for Sichel
Chiropractic, now Power Pilates, and various other medical
professionals in NYC before opening her own studio in New Jersey in
1995.
After more than 25 years, Donna is still dedicated to preserving,
not only the method as it was handed down to her, but also the
style of teacher training and personal mentorship that she learned
from Romana, hoping to inspire others in the same way.
Donna also holds two certificates in Thai Yoga Bodywork.
