At Turbo Studio our training is power based and during your first session we will be establishing your ‘Threshold Power Number’. This is how much energy (measured in watts) you are able to produce and transfer to the pedals / back wheel. We start you fairly conservatively and gradually increase the intensity until you reach a point of being challenged but not overwhelmed by the degree of resistance being fed to the back wheel. Each training unit has the ability to be adjusted individually, therefore the intensity of your session is relative to YOUR fitness, not to the fitness of the other people in the room. Once we have established your threshold number, we use this as a base to continue any further training here.
By incorporating our programme into your own training, you will be receiving the correct stimulus so that you experience significant improvements in your bike performance.
These improvements include:
. an increase in speed
. improved endurance
. a notable boost to your hill and sprint efforts
If you are a triathlete, an added benefit is an improvement in your run as your bike leg becomes far more efficient leaving you in better shape for the final transition.
While you are training with us please make use of all resources – ask questions about your own training and how our programme will fit with it.
For the session you will need to bring along your bike, your bike shoes, a bottle of water and be dressed for a regular bike ride. You may wish to bring along an MP3 player.
