Description
In this 4-1/2 hour workshop Alison Gillies will lead you through how to visualize anatomy as an artist would, by simply seeing and identifying and drawing boney landmarks and forms of musculature. This is accessible anatomy that helps with memorization and identification on every human body in a yoga class.
We will break down the Antomy of Yoga Poses (focusing on the muscles that are engaged) in the poses you most commonly see and practice. This workshop will help you gain insights into modificatition and intensifications of common yoga poses. You will become familiar with risk factors while studying anatomy in action.
Allison Gillies is an active exhibiting artist and professor at North Lake College. She has 16 years teaching experience throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, and in 2018 was a finalist for Outstanding Associate Faculty of the Year at Collin College.
She teaches all levels of Life Drawing and Artistic Anatomy, Painting, Art History, Color Theory and Design courses. In addition, teaching community workshops- and she’s excited to share an Artist’s perspective to Anatomy at the Yoga Factory!
