This workshop is about Embodied Study through the exploration of
movement as a phenomenon.
It weaves together physical (movement) exploration with attention
and awareness—drawing from both the philosophical foundations of
movement and the modern science of movement—all in order to explore
how movement discloses, grounds, and opens up our world, our place
in it, and how we are connected to it.
This 3-hour outdoor workshop offers an immersive exploration of movement as a way of being.
We’ll explore foundational questions such as:
-
What is movement, and what is it not?
-
How is movement part of our existential structure—not just a behavior, but the condition of meaningful perception, action, and expression?
-
What does it mean to have a movement practice, and how might such a practice reveal and transform the way we live?
Drawing on phenomenology, direct movement practice, and modern science, this workshop integrates theoretical insight with lived experience—inviting each participant to explore how movement reveals, relates, and transforms.
