Alexa BertucciDescription
Conscious Connected Breathwork is a pattern of rhythmic breathing, which works by temporarily quieting the thinking mind and softening analytical thinking, creating space for deeper body-based processes to come forward. You breathe laying down supported by curated music and sounds, you will experience a shift from rapid beta brainwave activity to slower, more relaxed alpha and theta states, allowing your nervous system to become more receptive and less guarded.
WHAT CAN THIS BREATHWORK FEEL LIKE: Each experience is different, some people feel energized, others feel deeply grounded and relaxed and some notice subtle shifts. This more intentional breathing technique creating a temporary shift in how your body and brain communicate which can heighten awareness and induce change in how the brain and body communicate creating peace. In this state, emotional patterns and stored experiences can begin to be felt in a new way resulting in a feeling of clarity. Instead of thinking our way through, within this state of meditation we are able to feel, process and reorganize thoughts at a physiological level that arises as a result of focused breathing. A sense of joy and gratitude can arise expanding your heart.
WHY YOGA AFTERWARDS:
Intentionally following the breathwork with Restorative Yoga will help guide the system back down supporting a parasympathetic (rest and digest) state. This allows the body to transition from a heightened state into one of safety, repair and integration. The combination of upregulating breathwork and downregulating Restorative Yoga helps train your nervous system to move more fluidly between states in your everyday life, building resilience, capacity and supporting your nervous system’s ability to shift into rest and recovery.
