Dancing with Grief Ceremony
Grief lives in the body. This evening gives it somewhere to move.
We are not gathering to escape grief, fix it, or force ourselves into closure. We are creating space for what is already here.
You may be carrying the death of someone you love, the end of a relationship, a major life change, an old loss that was never fully grieved, or something you cannot quite name yet.
There is no correct way to grieve. There is no emotional finish line waiting for you.
Through breath, somatic movement, music, dance, stillness, meditation, and community, we will explore what happens when grief is allowed to move instead of being asked to stay contained.
The evening begins with guided breath and movement to help you arrive in your body. From there, we enter an extended musical experience that unfolds in two waves.
The first wave builds rhythm and energy. It creates space to loosen tension, move beyond the thinking mind, and become more present in the body.
The second wave moves deeper. The music turns toward grief, memory, love, anger, longing, and whatever else asks to be felt.
You may dance intensely, move gently, sway, cry, make sound, sit, lie down, or remain still. Nothing needs to be performed. Catharsis is not required. Your body sets the pace.
The music will slowly guide us back toward stillness, followed by a grounding meditation and closing circle. You may share what came forward, sit quietly, or simply witness others. Sharing is always an invitation.
This is not about forgetting what has been lost. It is about discovering how love, memory, sorrow, beauty, and peace can exist in the same body.
