MASTERING THE ART OF PRIVATE YOGA: AN IN DEPTH STUDY TO HEIGHTEN YOUR ABILITY TO SEE, ACCOMMODATE AND EMPOWER YOUR PRIVATE CLIENTS
Are you a yoga teacher who is confident with public classes but a little uneasy when it comes to working one-on-one? Or are you a practitioner who feels lost when it comes to practicing for your own body? Do you want to strengthen your ability to see individual bodies and help students discover their unique, optimal alignment? Do you want to be more confident working with private clients and create lesson plans that keep them coming back? If so, then this training in for you.
This 20 hour, Yoga Alliance approved training will give you the tools to stand out from the crowd as a private yoga instructor, and frankly as an instructor in general. The first weekend is devoted to seeing the uniqueness of each body, based on a functional understanding of anatomy. We will dive into key anatomy points, including the impact of modern posture and common yoga injuries. You will learn how to identify, modify and adjust numerous imbalances and limitations. This will include deepening your understanding of prop usage, as well as how to get creative when you don’t have traditional yoga props available.
The second weekend is devoted to developing skills that will set you apart as a private instructor. Learn how to create strong and lasting relationships with clients by utilizing your personal skill set. Give clients what they want and need by listening to what they say (and don’t say). Customize plans, and allow them to change. Empower your clients’ growth, and discover ways to keep them engaged and safe. Get comfortable on your feet and refine your skills through our practice lab, in which you will be assigned a real life situation and given real time feedback on your teaching from Alex Joy. This supportive environment will give you the confidence to step into the field and start or improve your business as a private instructor.
*Teachers certified under Yoga Alliance can earn 20 Continuing Education Credits upon completion of this training.
