This workshop will be taught by eWa Burak (prounounced AY-vuh) (also goes by 'W'), a legendary Swedish dancer who has been a student, teacher, and competitor of this incredible dance since 1986.  eWa learned directly with Frankie Manning, one of the original innovators of lindy hop.  She teaches annually at one of the longest running, most respected, and widely attended camps in the world: Herrang.  Please come out and show her a warm welcome to our lovely swing community.

To start the Workshop off I like to focus on solo jazz rhythms and moves, some of which will be incorporated into our Lindy during the second session. To me it make sense to find the moves and expression in my own body, before I'm holding on to and trying to make the dance work with someone else.

At home in Sweden “fika pause” (coffee break) is a big deal. I'm happy to see that Byron added that social aspect into the workshop :).

Lindy Hop will follow. The choreography will be based on lead/follow and mid-tempo smooth social dancing inspired by Frankie, who I have had the privilege to work with throughout the years. Looking forward to meet you on the dance floor. Hope you can make it!

1:00PM – 2:15PM: Class 1 (solo jazz)
2:15PM – 3:15PM: Break (fika pause!)
3:15PM – 4:30PM: Class 2 (partnered mini-choreography)

TOTAL CLASS TIME: 2.5 HRS
TOTAL COST: $35 ($14/hr)

CLASS SIZE: Limited to 26 students (max of 15 of either role).  First come, first serve.

CLASS LEVEL: There will be a range of skill levels.  Minimum requirement is at least 6 months of weekly class experience.
