In this workshop, we will use yoga tools such as breathwork, meditation, and therapeutic movements, & self-massage techniques to improve postural alignment, stretch and strengthen the spine, and manage the stress of chronic pain as well as daily living.
We will cover the anatomy of the back and core muscles, the causes of chronic tension and pain and how to change postural misalignments, dysfunctional movement patterns and release chronic muscular and fascial tension, to treat and prevent pain and discomfort. Our ultimate goals is to facilitate freedom of movement and a sense of ease within the body and mind.
This workshop is designed for those new to yoga, experienced yoga practitioners, and yoga teachers who wish to add to their knowledge and skills to better serve their students. CEUs are available for Yoga Teachers through Yoga Alliance.
It is appropriate for those with back issues that have been given permission by a doctor to do yoga as well as those looking to prevent future back pain. This class would not be good for someone in the acute stage of an injury.
