SHINE Power Yoga is teaming up with Baptiste Affiliate Yoga Heart Kenya for an extraordinary 9 day trip to Kenya. During these 9 days we will embark on a journey of transformation through SHINE’s 3 day Leadership & Transformation Immersion, a 3 day service project at Five Star Academy and a 3 day safari, plus 2 days of travel. If you are looking to dedicate your heart to service, immerse yourself in the culture of Kenya and learn more about the world around us, this trip is for you!
Day 1 - July 30th: Travel to Nairobi into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Check-in to Lottos Bed & Breakfast.
Days 2 to 4 - July 31st to August 2nd: SHINE’s 3 Day Leadership Immersion. To read more about this phenomenal program, click here.
Days 5 to 7 - August 3rd to 5th: Service Build at Five Star Academy where we will be rehabilitating 8 classrooms through painting and building desks for 180 students. Five Star Academy is a school that has the most need in Nairobi and has close ties to SHINE Power Yoga & Yoga Heart Kenya. Days 8 to 10 - August 6th to 8th: 3 Day Safari at Massai Mara Reserve through Epic Africa Adventures where we will take sunrise & sunset tours through the African Savanna. Epic Africa Adventures is a local company owned by Kenyan natives. All costs for this safari go towards supporting a small business in Kenya & supporting their families.
Day 11 - August 9th: Travel Day Home

*Because this is a service trip, SHINE is supporting all guests to fundraise their total costs through helpful resources & tips. You do not have to embark on raising money for this trip alone. What’s Included in Your Donation:
Immersion into Kenyan culture through community outreach, sharing of stories, food & music
SHINE’s 3 Day Leadership & Transformation Immersion training. This training will be in collaboration with Yoga Heart Kenya. The cost per person includes scholarships for 30 African teachers and we will be in the training & sharing community together all weekend.
3 Day Service Project: Each participant’s cost includes a portion of costs that go towards the supplies and professional labor needed for our build. We will be working with Five Star Academy in Nairobi to refurbish 8 classrooms & build desks for 180 students.
3 Day Safari through Epic Africa Adventures (@epic_africa_adventures). Epic Africa Adventures is a local tour company owned by Kenyan natives. Our support of their small business helps local families.
All meals excluding 3 dinners. This allows guests to have some free time to explore Nairobi & enjoy different local restaurants.

$1,200 per person goes to supplies for our service build & scholarships for 30 African teachers in our Leadership Immersion Training

Nonrefundable $500 deposit is required at time of booking
Remaining $800 which will cover fundraising costs is due by April 1st, 2020. Your first $1,200 paid is nonrefundable as this is fundraising & goes directly to the build. All monies collected after $1,200 supports your expenses for the trip while in Kenya.
SHINE’s Contribution: SHINE is assisting guests by fundraising through our studio. We will hold karma classes to reach our community goal of $25,000. Students who cannot attend the trip but wish to be of service through donations are encouraged to support our community trip.
