Join Carleena for a 4 week journey into yin yoga. Yin yoga is the opposite of yang yoga. If yang, or power / vinyasa yoga is active & dynamic, yin yoga is more passive & static.
Yin Yoga is a non-heated style of yoga done mostly seated. You will experience longer holds in poses such as fish, half pigeon & forward folds, for example. We will use plenty of props to support us to allow for further release. Our aim is to “un-do” and unwind while still feeling the effects of stretching.
In addition, throughout class Carleena will be providing mindful meditation tools. A yin yoga practice is suitable for any person with any experience of yoga, including those with injuries as there are countless modifications.
We have yoga bolsters, blankets and blocks for use. You are welcome to bring any other props you enjoy having for yin yoga. Dress comfy (pjs and socks welcome!)
