Description
Manny Farber is regarded as one of the best still life paintings of the 21st century. We'll be using his technique of painting objects from life on the table with a palette knife. Tell your story through personal objects that are thoughtfully composed on your canvas. Be sure to bring your personal items to every class!
Part 1 - Explore various compositional options and create a study to practice painting with the palette knife, a new tool for many artists. Choose your final composition in your notepad, paint your background, and use the sketch for part two.
Part 2 - Sketch your chosen composition onto the canvas of your size. Begin painting objects onto your canvas. Upgrade to a larger canvas, get $10 off.
Part 3 - Continue painting your personal objects onto your canvas, accompained by group discussions.
Part 4 - Add finish touches and cast shadows to your piece.
Materials are provided; more experienced artists may prefer to bring their own paints.
