This “Pilates for Posture” workshop is for anyone who wants to address posture issues caused by long periods of time sitting or hunched in front of a computer. You’ll feel like you’ve grown taller after 75 minutes of Pilates mat exercises that focus on the main elements of good posture: lengthening the spine, strengthening the upper back muscles and abdominals, and releasing tight hips. Use of the Theraband and Magic Circle will allow you to connect more deeply to specific muscles that are important for proper posture, while moving through fun and challenging variations of familiar exercises. Stretching will be incorporated throughout the workshop to enable you to sit, stand, and move with greater ease and less tension.
You will walk away with a handout of quick but effective posture exercises that you can do while sitting at your desk.
