Cacao is the natural, unprocessed form of chocolate grown in
tropical regions around the world. Most people know cacao as a
superfood. It has possibly the highest amount of antioxidants of
any food. Cacao contains beneficial minerals like iron and
magnesium. And the main active compound, theobromine, gives a boost
of energy without the crash or cravings that come from caffeine
(which is actually very sparse in this type of cacao).
Yet cacao also has another aspect not spoken about in health food stores. Legends tell of ancient Mesoamerican civilizations using cacao for introspective and celebratory purposes, calling it the “Food of the Gods” and even trading it like currency. This more mysterious “plant medicine” side of cacao offers the potential to put you more in touch with your body and your soul.
Soul Lift Cacao founder Nick Meador spent years traveling throughout Central America connecting with cacao farms, collectives, and experts. And he has been training people to share cacao on their own since 2017.
On top of that, Nick has been on a path of facilitation for nearly a decade. He has trained in various traditions, schools, and lineages for healing and self-development, and looks for the parallels that tie them together.
This ceremony will be a gentle experience with cacao that could involve intention setting, active meditation (possibly shaking, breathing practices, etc), authentic sharing and connection.
This gathering will also feature a deeply relaxing Sound Healing journey with the amazing Marga Samadhi.
You'll likely gain insights into the best direction moving forward on your higher path, as well as the focus and motivation to take action towards those goals.

NOTE ON ETHICS
This gathering is not a replica of indigenous practices or ceremonies. A ceremony is simply a chance for us to connect with our bodies and our souls in a held container with people doing the same. Nick is working to bring the ancient magic of cacao into a modern context in a practical and down-to-earth way.
With his social enterprise Soul Lift Cacao, Nick serves cacao grown organically at a family farm in eastern Guatemala, prepared by indigenous collectives at Lake Atitlán that he met personally, and obtained through ethical direct trade WITH FULL PERMISSION AND CONSENT TO SHARE IT IN THIS WAY. When you enjoy this cacao, you directly support the Mayan indigenous people preparing the cacao through their profit sharing models.
By giving back and showing respect, we honor the sacred role that cacao has played for thousands of years in the indigenous cultures of what we now call Central and South America. We are so fortunate that ceremonial cacao is entering the global consciousness at a time when it can have a massively positive impact. It is a privilege to serve cacao made for ceremonial use outside of its indigenous context. For more info visit soulliftcacao.com.
NOTE ON SAFETY
Cacao consumption is optional at this event. It is not advised for people taking MAOI anti-depressants or people with a heart condition to have a full serving of pure cacao.
