“Get Upside Down! Inversions Workshop” will help you take your practice to another level with a better understanding of inversions, through drill exercises and the foundational elements of various inverted poses.
Using Ashtanga Yoga philosophy and techniques, students will learn about physical and mental strength, breathing, drishti, and body awareness with inversions; learn about wrist health with some helpful drill exercises; learn how to use props (such as straps, blocks, and the wall) to assist in inversions; learn about transitions into and out of the postures; and discuss pressing into inversions, as well as feeling comfortable and fearless upside down. Some of the inverted postures that students will experience include Downward Facing Dog (yes, that's in inversion!), Crow/Crane, Shoulder Stand, Headstand, and Handstand.
