This will be a four part series on how to use assorted yoga props. You may choose to attend one or all!
Yoga Props enable students to find proper alignment and stability in their yoga practice. Yoga props also help students to try new yoga poses and go deeper in their practice. This series is for any and all yogis whether you are brand new to yoga or have been on the mat for awhile. Props can feel intimitating but they are the best tools to help you truly appreciate your practice and to grow as a yogi.
Each workshop will focus on specific props so you may choose what class interests you. The props highlighted in each session will be discounted at the studio the weekend leading up to the event so you can purchase the items if needed
Blocks: Yoga blocks come in various sizes and materials. They are the most common yoga props used. This workshop will focus on how to use blocks in your vinyasa classes. All levels of students are encouraged to take this workshop.
Straps: Yoga straps are used for stretching and achieving a wider range of motion. Straps are especially useful for those with tight muscle areas such as hamstrings or shoulders. This workshop will cover the use of straps in various poses to deepen your yoga practice.
Bolsters and Pillows: Yoga bolsters help create relaxation in yoga poses. They are usually used in prenatal, oncology, restorative and Iyengar yoga practices but are great for all yogis. This workshop will help you restore and relax using a yoga bolster as a prop and tool for your practice.
Rollers, blankets and other props: Foam rollers help pinpoint and work in tight muscle areas. They also help to provide resistance in your yoga flow. Yoga blankets are great not just for cuddling under, but also for support and comfort during your yoga practice. This final workshop in the series will cover these two props, as well as others. Please feel free to ask for specific prop tips and bring up any questions you may have about use of props.
