Paint the lush jungle on canvas and populate it with exotic birds and animals, large and small, real and imagined. In this workshop, you will learn how to use reference material, such as images of wildlife, and create a painting bursting with creative freedom. As colors of fur and feathers change depending on whether they are in the light or shade, you will learn the techniques for how to create depth and darkness that hide animals and how to bring sunlight to illuminate the inhabitants of the jungle - to be seen in their full multicolored glory. You will be working on this painting for the entire week. This is more than just a landscape painting: it’s a habitat full of rich color that your creative imagination will bring to life. Welcome to the jungle, and - watch out for that tree!
You will have an amazing work of art that you’ll want to hang in your room as evidence that you spent a week in the jungle, documenting your stay. If you’re passionate about nature preservation and animals, this is the program for you!
At the end of the week, on Friday evening, as the teens emerge from the jungle, friends, and family will be invited to the Wine and Cocoa Online Art Reception, where the painting of each participant will be exhibited in an online gallery. The participants will present their artwork, share their techniques, and explain their process. Training on how to present their art and how to speak about their work will be a part of this week’s project and will allow the young artists to feel comfortable in the limelight.
