Summer three-part self-care series for body, mind and energy
This three-part self-care series is designed for all-level practitioners to explore other alternative and mindful practices that harmonize the body, mind and energy balance. You may attend individual session or all three to experience the total oneness and wholeness of these series.
Part one – self care for the body
Restorative Yoga & Yoga nidra
We will start our series with a 40-min Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Whether you have an active or busy lifestyle, are currently participating May challenge, or have chronic fatigue in your body, Restorative Yoga is suitable for beginners and practitioners of all levels to relax and restore our bodies in a very gentle and safe manner. Restorative yoga is a restful practice that holds poses for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters, so that the body does not create or engage in any “work”. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind.
We will end the practice with a 20-min Yoga Nidra, which is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.
