June 26 - June 27
10:00 am - 3:00 pm central time
One Trick: Trans Voice Weekend is a two-day workshop for transgender and gender nonconforming folks that teaches the basics of gender expression and voice. The weekend includes voice techniques, exercises, and guided implementation. Learn how to support yourself in exploring gender expression and voice and how to use the exercises in One Weird Trick: A User’s Guide to Transgender Voice to move toward your voice goals.
You’ll also have a better understanding of what makes up a healthy vocal system and what to do when your voice starts to show signs of fatigue. This workshop is perfect for beginners or those looking to brush up on their skills. We’ll cover the 4 major components of voice and speech and you’ll get to work with Voice Lab Co-Founder Liz Jackson Hearns to put your new skills into practice. Participation is totally voluntary and definitely encouraged.
