Description
There are many ways to manage the breath to achieve different effects. This 5-hour workshop will introduce participants to basic principles of breath energy and physiology. Participants will practice breathing techniques and explore why/when to use specific techniques. Class will include some lecture, discussion, and guided practice (including movement, breathing, and meditation). Additional resources will be provided to participants. Participants are encouraged to bring note-taking materials, a practice mat, and wear comfortable clothing for movement.
This class will be lead by Dr. Kim Allen, a certified 500-hour teacher and 500-hour yoga therapist through the American Viniyoga Institue. Kim has her doctorate in Helath Education, is an adjucnt professor at IUPUI, a certifed Yoga Therapist, a licensed Massage Therapist, and a Nationally Board-Certified Wellness Coach. She has been teaching yoga since 1996 to a wide range of speciality populations and loves teaching others.
