Breathing is essential. When we consciously pair breath and movement, powerful effects can be realized. This 5-hour workshop will focus on the natural rhythms of breathing and how to combine them with asana (yoga movements) to enhance the physical effects of both. Class will include some lecture, discussion, and guided practice (including movement, breathing, and meditation). Additional resources will be provided to participants. Participants are encouraged to bring note-taking materials, a practice mat, and wear comfortable clothing for movement. Yoga Alliance CEUs will be available for participation in this training.
This class will be lead by Dr. Kim Allen, a certified 500-hour teacher and 500-hour yoga therapist through the American Viniyoga Institue. Kim has her doctorate in Helath Education, is an adjucnt professor at IUPUI, a certifed Yoga Therapist, a licensed Massage Therapist, and a Nationally Board-Certified Wellness Coach. She has been teaching yoga since 1996 to a wide range of speciality populations and loves teaching others.
