Restorative Yoga is a full-service class taught in an environment that is still, quiet, dark, and warm. Participants can expect a limited sequence of postures, each fully supported to provide comfort and ease, in turn facilitating relaxation and health.
By providing the right conditions you don’t have to make yourself relax, you just wait patiently and the relaxation will unfold. Restorative Yoga can produce exceptionally deep relaxation by providing an environment that activates your parasympathetic nervous system (part of your body that calms you down). Once your body is deeply relaxed, you give your muscles permission to release, your breath the opportunity to slow, and then your mind can find ease. Restorative Yoga is an excellent practice for students who are seeking healing or relief from chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia.
Due to the amount of individualized, hands-on service provided by the instructor, participation is very limited.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the workshop is scheduled to begin.
No previous yoga experience is needed for this workshop. This practice will be all on the floor.
Wear comforatable layered clothing and socks. This is not a practice that incorporates movement or flow, comfort is the focus during this practice.
