Description
Restorative Yoga Teacher Training
August 17-19, 2018 (daily hours are listed below)
Your Guides: John Grey, E-RYT, YACEP® & Michele Tampa-Hoag, E-RYT, YACEP®
Learning to relax is arguably one of the most difficult goals to achieve in our non-stop world; Restorative Yoga can provide the answer to this dilemma. This form of yoga was originally introduced by B.K.S. Iyengar to provide a grounding and nurturing practice for his students who were struggling with illness, injury, and stress.
During this workshop, Michele and John will provide you with the tools and techniques that will enable you to create and deliver classes that will provide a peaceful, meditative, and most of all restorative oasis designed to counteract the rigors of modern living. In this workshop we will cover:
- What is Restorative Yoga
- Understanding the physical effects of stress on the body
- The qualities of a Restorative Yoga Teacher
- The components of a Restorative Yoga class (including the proper use of props and adjustments)
- The dynamics of Restorative Yoga sequencing
- Four Restorative asana practices followed by student class creation and teach backs
- Plus, special considerations for pregnancy, injury, disability, chronic illness
This workshop is geared towards currently certified yoga instructors with a minimum of 200-hours training or equivalent. Upon successful completion of this course, 14 YA CEUs will be available.
