A fun, eye opening, challenging and game changing workshop for practitioners from all styles of Yoga! Come laugh and sweat with Krista as she delves into the physical exploration of the body through Yoga asana. How we hold our bodies up, move our head, maintain posture (or not), walk, sit, move….determines so much of how we feel in the body in which we live. Yoga practice alone does a great deal to improve posture, align the spine and musculature, our stance and more but that alone isn’t enough! Let’s look at how we can bring awareness, mindfulness and effort into how we live in and carry the body both ON and OFF the mat. Suitable for all levels.

Opposition of Force: Standing Sequence

Hands down one of the most valuable workshops you will ever attend! Every balance has a counter balance, every push has a pull, every extension a flexion. The Ashtanga Yoga practice is a full syllabus of opposing forces. Using the Ashtanga standing sequence postures we will break down each posture in order to see, feel, understand and apply the concept of opposition of force. A very physically challenging session, be prepared to break a sweat, shake, squirm and learn! Suitable for all levels but be prepared to work!

Spend time with Krista learning about the power of pure essential oils, including what they are, how they are made, some history on essential oils, different grades of essential oils, as well as some of the uses and countless ways they can support your body from the inside out. Krista will also dedicate time to discussing toxic-FREE alternatives for yourself and your family.


Learn how to safely, effectively and efficiently work on, work through, understand and master the postures of the Ashtanga Yoga Intermediate Series. This workshop series is suitable for any Ashtanga Yoga students and teachers wanting to learn how to teach and adjust in the postures, as well as go deeper in their practice and learn to master the asanas.

Krista Shirley is a level 2 Authorized Ashtanga teacher and founder of The Yoga Shala in Orlando, Florida where she teaches traditional Ashtanga yoga classes in the Mysore method. For the last 15 years, Krista has made numerous trips to India where she studies under Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois at the KPJAY Institute.
