Learn how to begin your Yoga practice here!

You will learn how to begin a safe yoga practice for your body. We will begin simply with how to move and prepare for yoga postures. Yoga postures can be seated, standing, balancing, and even inverted; that's a whole lot of yoga to learn in a standard class. This series will provide slow and gentle approaches to each category of yoga postures. We will incorporate props and modifications for you to learn how to adapt your own practice, either at home or in an all levels Yoga class.

This series is a great way to learn the basics of yoga whether you are a continuing student or brand new to the practice and don't want to dive into a weekly Yoga class. Everyone will come to this class as a student ready to learn about Yoga and the beauty of the practice. 

Learning the postures is the gateway to deepening your practice with mindfulness, breathing, and meditation. As always, there will be time to ask questions about the yoga practice, from physical to contemplative. This series, however, will focus on simply stepping on your mat and learning how to practice postures safely and efficiently. 

Feel free to bring a notebook and your own mat. We do have mats available to use if you don't have one, they are free to borrow. All props will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing that will allow for easy movement. The room will not be hot, but will be warm at a relaxing 72 degrees. Please feel free to bring layers for any relaxation poses we might explore.
