At the heart of the Hero’s Journey is the desire to know oneself. We will begin our journey operating under the basic premise that as human beings, we are energetic beings living in a variety of energetic fields. We will consider the variations of vibrational frequencies in those fields as they effect our emotions, thoughts, beliefs and actions. With an eye to the expansion of consciousness and the cultivation of personal sovereignty, we will explore the roles of unexamined assumptions and unconscious programming in how we view ourselves and live our lives. Beginning with heartfelt inquiry, we will deepen our sense of self through embodied Yoga practices such as meditation, breath and asana.
In this introductory session we will lay a foundation of Metaphysical Constructs within the larger context of Science and Philosophy. We will begin with a brief introduction to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the eight limbs of yoga, paying particular attention to concepts of Ahimsa and Swadhyaya through the lens of deepening self-compassion and self-reflection to recognize the divine spark within. Throughout this series, we will consider Yoga Philosophy and techniques as both art and science of healthy living.
