This workshop focuses on utilizing the practices of yoga, asana, pranayama to enhance your emotional wellbeing. The class is a blend of rhythmic movement, gentle flows, yin poses, restorative postures & mindful breathing exercises to improve mind-body connection and feelings of safety in the body. Alongside the physical practice, Alexa will offer education and resources related to how yoga can benefit our physical and mental wellbeing. Alexa will provide deeper insight into the workings of the central nervous system, and how yoga postures, breathwork, and movement can positively impact individuals’ nervous system. It has been shown that rhythmic movement helps the body to feel safe by lowering fight and flight/sympathetic nervous system activation and turning on our rest and digest/ parasympathetic nervous system. Alexa hopes to guide you to feeling safe, connected and rested in your body!
