Description
Breathing is something we all do approximately 20,000 times a day, and it is something we rarely pay much attention to. But, should we be paying more attention to it?
Breathing has a direct impact on our entire nervous system, and thus how we feel in any given moment. How we feel in any given moment, directly impacts on our entire experience of life. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say: 'when we change our breath, we change our life!'.
During this workshop, we will look at the following:
- Breath's relationship with the nervous system.
- What people mean when they say: ‘take a deep breath’.
- How can we breathe to reduce stress and anxiety, and support us in nestling into calm and ease?
- How can we breathe to energise, enliven and inspire when we are feeling a little dull and lethargic?
During part 1, Joe will speak about the relationship between breath
and the nervous system, and the breath practices which support us
in reducing stress and anxiety and creating a
foundation of calm and ease. We will then do some gentle yoga and
breath practices so we can really feel these practices in our
bones.
During part 2, we will explore breath practices which energise, enliven, inspire and provide opportunities for transformation. The primary breath practice in this section will be based on SOMA breath - a breathwork journey; with conscious, connected and rhythmic breathing, guided by music.
