Join us at Anderson Yoga Center for “Align + Refine,” a workshop designed to help you better understand several basic alignment principles for the majority of yoga poses, and help you better access a wider variety of poses in your own practice! Taught by studio owner and ERYT500 yoga instructor, Megan Schlobohm, this class will also offer variations and modofications to aid you in better accessing the targeted areas intended for each pose, which can lead to a safer, stronger, more empowered practice overall! This class is perfect for all levels, and no experience in yoga is needed (beginners and long-timers alike will learn something)!
Some poses we'll unpack include:
- mountain pose (tadasana)
- downward facing dog (adho mukha svanasana)
- high plank (phalakasana)
- low plank (chatarunga dandasana) (especially how this is an actual shape and not a movement)
- upward facing dog and cobra pose (Urdhva mudha svanasana and bhujangasana) (the difference between the two poses)
- high crescent lunge (anjaneyasana)
- warrior 1 and warrior 2 (virabhadrasana 1 + 2) (the difference between the two poses)
- And possibly more depending on time!
