Take a deep dive into everything “yoga”. This five week series provides a well-rounded introduction and foundational understanding of the yoga practice for all beginner and experienced students alike. This program instills confidence in your practice so you can attend group yoga classes and develop a full practice of your own. Each session will be hands-on, in-depth and offer ample one-on-one attention.
Each session will cover a different subject matter:
Session 1 - Saturday, September 2nd 1-4pm

Introduction to breathwork and how to breathe in yoga

The basics of meditation and its various styles

Yoga props and how to use them

Breaking down the Sun Salutation
Session 2 - Saturday, September 9th 1-4pm

The Seated Postures of Yoga - an in-depth teaching and practice of all seated poses

How to “find your seat” in yoga and meditation

Ways to support yourself in seated postures

Variations of seated yoga poses

The difference between the styles of Restorative and Yin Yoga
Session 3 - Saturday, September 16th 1-4pm

Understanding transitions from pose to pose
Session 4 - Saturday, September 23rd 1-4pm

The Inversion and Backbending Postures of Yoga - an in-depth teaching and practice of both inverted and backbending poses

Understanding the true “core” of the body in yoga

Dissolving misconceptions about the perceived level of difficulty or experience with inversions and backbends

Making inversions and backbends accessible for all bodies

Brief and non-intimidating introduction to arm balancing

Each session is not contingent upon the other, but it is recommended to attend all to develop a full understanding of the yoga practice.
