Why we should do Sound Healing Yoga Nidra?
According to the International Journal of Yoga, yoga nidra can aid those struggling with anxiety and insomnia. The reason for this, based on image studies of the brain, is that yoga nidra slows down the regions involved in executive control, emotion processing, and motor planning. When these functions slow down, it allows for physical and mental relaxation which reduces anxiety levels. The same researchers also found that yoga nidra causes a release of dopamine to further encourage relaxation.

Why we should practice Yin Yoga regularly?
It is a more meditative approach with a physical focus on a much deeper level of practice. As one ages flexibility in the joints decreases and Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility.
This intimate practice of yoga requires students to be ready to get intimate with the self, with feelings, sensations, and emotions. Yin yoga is often used in programs that deal with addictions, eating disorders, anxiety and deep pain or trauma. It is a practice of stillness physically and mentally, a practice to slow down and see clearly of one own self within, a practice to find peace and comfort within to be able to function again at full potential.
Yin teaches us how to be gentle, patient, and nonreactive. When emotions bubble to the surface, the conditions are safe. Self control, self awareness and being able to response by choice.

Wear very comfortable, strechable clothes, active wear is ok. Please NO heavy make up as your yoga props can get stained. NO strong perfumes as some people can have allergic to. NO conversation during practice. There will be Q & A time after session. Please ask away your query during Q & A session.
We recommend that your bring your Yoga Mat, Blocks, Blanket, Two Blocks, Straps and Bolster if you have. If you don't have, we have some rental from the studio. Minimum $2 donation for the prop rentals.
