Wanting to try yoga but not ready to jump into a group class?
This introductory workshop will help new students feel comfortable and confident to begin their yoga practice.
Yoga is for everyone! This includes all body-types and ages. This workshop will help students learn basic alignment that can be applied to every yoga pose including, injury management and modifications. We will also introduce the anatomy of breathing, connecting our breath and movement, and provide simple breathing exercises that can be used anywhere. The flow will be conversational, the pace chill, with opportunities to ask questions and quell fears.
No prior yoga experience needed. Come wearing loose fitting, comfortable clothing (layers are recommended). Please try not to eat or drink at least one hour before start time and plan on hydrating after class, not during. Mats and props will be provided.
Marcy Tropin came to yoga from a bicycling accident. Inspired by her own healing she pursued teaching and became certified in Alan Finger’s Ishta Yoga in 2001. Marcy continued her yogic studies with Judith Lasater’s Relax + Renew Training in 2003, Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training with Shiva Rea in 2005 and Yin Yoga Practice + Theory Teacher Training with Paul Grilley in 2007. She has a B.F.A. from the California College of the Arts and published her first book, ‘Yin Yoga Master Class: A Memoir’ in 2017. In 2021 she started Thumbsky.com, a clothing and apparel brand, as creative outlet and safe space for her designs on; equality, art, writing, yoga and humor. Marcy's teaching style combines alignment, humor and intuition to create a practice that is in the moment, for students. When not teaching Marcy can be found doting on her beloved dog Buster.
