The focus of this class series is to bring awareness through the different layers of YOU: physical form, our energetic form, our mental and emotional forms, and the subtle form of spirit too. These are known in Sanskrit as the Koshas. We will also touch on: Chakras, Nadis (Ida and Pingola as well as the Shushuma, where the Kundalini resides), Marma points and the Vayus (Prana and Aprana, ascending and descending channels of energy within the body).
Our means of exploration will be through minimal discussion and asana (for the purpose of grounding, embodying and exploring our physical form).
Pranayama, Pratyahara and Dharana; the movement of energy through the body with the breath, observation/transcendence from the senses and concentration will be the backbone of this practice. Elements from Hatha Yoga, Kriya Yoga and Yoga Nidra will be employed.
Whether these terms are familiar to You, or completely new, You are most welcome to join us. You can participate in this practice whether the body is comfortable on a mat or in a chair. I only ask that You come willing to explore Yourself.
You may bring a journal, perhaps one where You can take notes and reflect specifically on the content of our practices, but it's not necessary. There will be handouts pertaining to our weekly discussion each session, should You like one.
