Named after the town in southern India where the ashtanga vinyasa yoga was taught and practiced by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the individual practice Mysore-style is the traditional way of practicing ashtanga yoga.
The class is not driven; expect to hear only the sound of the breath of each practitioner. The teacher assists each student individually, providing adjustments physical and verbal instructions only when necessary. Each student practices its own portion of the sequence of asanas to the rhythm of his own breathing.
This type of practice offers students the opportunity to focus solely on your breathing; as you develop strength, flexibility and concentration, the teacher individually to each practitioner more asanas, allowing it to move forward in the sequence.
Through patience and dedication to the practice you reach a state of meditation in motion during execution of the sequence.
This practice is suitable for students of ashtanga yoga with at least 3 months of constant practice they have stored their portion of the sequence of positions.
