Yin Yoga focuses on the slow, gentle, opening of the fascial
layer of the body. The fascia is the connective tissue under the
skin, which wraps the muscles, and holds the body together. Over
time, chronic tightness of the fascia causes stiffness and
inflexibility, restricting mobility and energy flow. Most of the
postures are done seated or lying down and focus on opening the
back, hips and hamstrings.
