Yin Yoga consists of passively held floor poses for 3-5 minutes each in an attempt to elongate and retrain the connective tissues of the joints, ligamants and joint capsules.
An excellent complimentary practice to other more active styles of yoga or activities, Yin Yoga promotes healing and space in the joints. It is excellent for runners, those with stiff or arthritic joints or those just hoping for a deep stretch and release in the hips, knees, ankles and shoulders.
In Yin yoga, meridian lines are pressured to release stagnant energy in the body for healing and mindfulness.
